DH News for the week of 5/26/2025
As we discussed here earlier this year, Diamond Comics Distributors filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy and began working on reorganization. The situation evolved significantly this month, with the bulk of Diamond's assets being acquired by Ad Populum (which will oversee Diamond Comics Distributors) and Universal Distribution (which acquired Alliance Game Distributors).
While Ad Populum has sent assurances to comic shops regarding continued order fulfillment, Diamond is still navigating substantial challenges. These include internal layoffs and, critically, the upcoming departure of major publishers from its direct ordering system. Given this current situation, Diamond will either cease to exist or be reborn in an entirely different role. We at Digital Heroes want to assure you that we have been proactively implementing the necessary changes to minimize any potential disruptions stemming from Diamond's situation. Consequently, should Diamond's role in comic distribution be further reduced or even cease, we are confident that it will have a very minimal impact on our inventory and our ability to fulfill your orders.
