DH News for the week of 8/3/2026
Happy August! As we head into the "Dog Days" of summer, I’d like to remind everyone that I am actively building our next round of CGC submissions for both trading cards and comic books.
CGC is still experiencing significant backlogs for trading cards, with bulk tier submissions taking several months to process. Comic turnarounds are moving a bit faster, and I’m currently working through a fantastic batch of vintage books I recently acquired.
For those who follow our shop projects, I’ve been continuing to hone my cleaning and pressing techniques. I recently worked on a copy of Amazing Spider-Man #10 in "Good" condition (see photo above) that suffered from some cover wrinkling and (coffee?) staining. While stain removal is a delicate process and rarely eliminates marks entirely, deep corrections like this improve the overall eye appeal and presentation once encapsulated in a CGC slab, even if it only shifts the numerical grade by half a point.
I bring this up for two reason:
- Cleaning & Pressing Services: Yes, I offer professional comic cleaning and pressing services for a fee if you want to prep your books before submitting them for grading!
- We Buy Collections: If you have valuable keys, older comic runs, or high-value trading cards you're looking to sell, we are always buying! Keep in mind that our offer will be lower than what you might net by selling them individually yourself, as we have store overhead to cover, but it’s a quick and hassle-free way to liquidate your collection.
