I’m writing this newsletter while watching the FIFA World Cup Final. You all will know the outcome by the time you are reading this! I don’t have a horse in the race, so to speak, but I’ve been genuinely surprised by how everyone—myself included—has been so engrossed in the sport of soccer this summer. Both of my kids played soccer when they were little, but honestly, it’s never been my sport of choice when picking something to watch. Having the US host FIFA games this year seems to have raised awareness and ignited a fandom for a sport that was, until now, somewhat underrated here in the US.
